Pass it On has begun to launch our audio from the oral history interviews we’ve been gathering over the last few months.

Take a listen to Darce Easton, daughter of the Washington Monument State Park’s first superintendent, from Jim Bowers who recalls his youth as a soldier in a unit dubbed “The Spearhead” for their role in World War II, or from Eleanor Lakin, long-time town resident who became one of the first women in Maryland to become a licensed architect.

There’s some interesting stuff in here, just take a listen

Next up is Sara (Zimmerman) Sweeney, daughter of the owner of Zimmerman’s Cut Rate which served town residents in the corner building that now houses Josie’s on Main and Janice Gantz, in her mid 90’s, who lived on  Potomac Street for more than 70 years and remembers what life was like in Boonsboro during the time of the party line phone.  We’ll also be interviewing local historian Doug Bast, who owns and operates the Boonesborough Museum of History on Main Street.  Good stuff coming!
