Events

The Historical Society hosts a number of events throughout the year.

Membership Meeting – The Boonsboro Historical Society hosts a membership meeting with a featured speaker or program each month (except for December and January). If you’d like to attend, please consider becoming a member.

Bowman House Tours – The Bowman House Museum, also the headquarters of the Society, is open the 4th Sunday of each month from April through October 2:00-4:30pm. There are hearth demonstrations and a self-guided tour of the historic 19th century Bowman House, raised bed vegetable garden and pottery building. If you’d like to request a tour outside of normal operating hours, please contact us well in advance to arrange.

September – Boonesborough Days festival featuring historical demonstrations and handmade items from local artisans. Held the second weekend in September each year – the weekend after Labor Day weekend.

December – South County Historic Church Tour. Includes 17 historic churches located in Boonsboro, Keedysville and Sharpsburg. Some of the churches will have live music and refreshments. See the walking tour brochure and insert for more information.
