Ship on which Bud Price served – the USS Newport News CA148, the last Heavy Artillery Cruiser to have served in the Fleet.
According to Bud, it was the Atlantic Fleet flagship in 1969 & 1970, after which it was transferred to the Pacific Fleet for combat support duty off the Vietnam Coast.
