Boonesborough Days Rules & Policies for Vendors and Demonstrators

Read all rules and policies and keep a copy for your reference.

Boonesborough Days is a 2-day festival that runs both Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.  All Vendors and Demonstrators agree to demonstrate and exhibit from 9am until 5pm on BOTH days.

All Vendors and Demonstrators must agree to follow any Covid-19 safety protocols that are in place at the time of the festival.

Important!  Boonesborough Days is a registered trademark of the Boonsboro Historical Society and may not be used without permission.  Vendors and Demonstrators are not allowed to create online posts or events that give the impression that they are the host of Boonesborough Days.  Please like and share the official event post created by the Society.  You are also welcome to create your own news post that announces that you will be AT the festival.  You may not create an event post that looks like you are hosting the festival.  If you are confused by this in any way, contact Kristin Bowl, webmaster for the Historical Society for guidance at kristin@skipjackweb.com.  See Vendor Tips for a Successful Festival, including suggestions for social media.

Boonesborough Days is spelled with an “e” since the festival is meant to celebrate art and history and the spelling with an “e” was used in Boonsboro’s early history.  The Boonsboro Historical Society uses the current spelling in its official name.

Craft Vendor Requirements

  • All items in your booth must be handmade by you – no exceptions!!  No items may be displayed or sold without prior approval by the Jury Committee. Committee members will visit vendors during the show and anyone found in violation will be asked to remove the items. If you are asked to leave the show or choose not to participate because of disapproved items, your fee will not be refunded.
  • Each space is 10×10. Stay within the limits of the space you have rented. Do not impose on the vendors on all sides of you. If you require more than 10×10 to adequately display your material, purchase two spaces and we will accommodate the change.
  • Festival registration requires the use of space assignments. You will receive final instructions in August and a list of site assignments will be posted on the website.
  • Do not set up before you check-in. Verify your space to avoid errors. If you set up in the wrong site you will need to move to the correct one. Set up must be completed and vehicles removed from temporary unloading locations by 9am and no closing down until 5pm each day of the show.
  • Vehicles are not allowed on the grounds before 5 pm, regardless of the weather! This requirement is meant to be a safety precaution to protect pedestrian traffic throughout the park.
  • Boonesborough Days is a 2-day festival held rain or shine. Vendors are expected to be present during the entire festival, whether it rains or not. Please make sure you are able to stake your tent and secure your products from inclement weather. The only exception will be if the National Weather Service issues a severe weather alert. In this case, the BBDay’s staff will alert you. If you pack up your booth and leave before the end of the festival, we may not be able to include you in future festivals.
  • The Society will attempt to comply with applicants’ requests for space assignment, but cannot guarantee any locations, including returning exhibitors after the deadline.
  • Participants must supply their own display tables and protections from weather.
  • Although the Society hires staff to keep the park clean, vendors are responsible for their assigned area. Put all trash in large bags and take it to the dumpsters provided. Do not leave full trash bags in public areas. After closing down, and before leaving the area, please clean your spot and discard all empty boxes and personal trash in the dumpsters.
  • It is the vendor’s responsibility to collect and report the Maryland Sales Tax. The Boonesborough Days™ Coordinator is required to report the name, address, and Sales Tax ID number of all vendors to the Maryland Sales Tax Division of the Comptroller’s Office in Annapolis, MD.
  • Refund Policy: Your fee will be refunded 100% if the cancellation is received by June 15th, 50% if received by July 15th.  After July 15th, there will be no refunds.
  • Checks returned for insufficient funds will require payment of the fee in the form of a Money Order, bank charges, and a $35 fee to the Boonsboro Historical Society.

Food Vendor Requirements

  • Food Vendor Space reservation fees are $105.00.  This is a non-refundable fee.
  • Each food vendor is required to pay 15% of the total net profits prior to October 31, 2024, made payable to Boonsboro Historical Society, P.O. Box 213, Boonsboro, MD 21713
  • Net profits paid after October 31st deadline will be required to pay a late fee of $50, made out to the Boonsboro Historical Society, in order to participate the following year.
  • Checks returned for insufficient funds will require payment of the fee, bank charges and a $35 fee to the Boonsboro Historical Society.
  • Failure to comply with these requirements may forfeit your vendor space for following years.
  • Food vendors are responsible for following local health codes and ensuring they are in compliance.
  • Vendors may not begin set up until they are checked in.  Set up only in the pavilion or space you have been assigned.
  • Vehicles are not allowed on the grounds before 5 p.m., regardless of the weather! This requirement is meant to be a safety precaution to protect pedestrian traffic throughout the park.

  • Only sell the food listed on your application unless you have cleared it with the festival manager.
  • You will receive parking space permits when you are sent your final instructions in August. Make enough copies for all the people working in your booth.

Demonstrator Requirements

Please keep in mind that Demonstrators are not charged a booth fee and therefore do not sell items at the festival.  They demonstrate and educate only.
