On August 22nd, author and historian, Bob O’Connor will speak at the Boonsboro Free Library at 5:30pm. His program, called “Boonsboro Environs”, will feature portions of several of his books with connections to Boonsboro, MD.
For example:
– “The Perfect Steel Trap Harpers Ferry 1859” – 7 of John Brown’s raiders who escaped traveled on a path we know today as the Appalachian Trail, passing along South Mountain just above Boonsboro
– “Southern Oasis at Gettysburg” – funny incident involving the local toll keeper and the Confederate Army marching toward Gettysburg
